The real secret to DVR's is the program guide. The ability to say "Record YYY" and the computer inside detects night changes, dual episodes, you can search. Then instead of mysterious "file1", "file2", "file3" - on the recorded guide - you get titles, dates, etc. But ... Search for "DTVPal" I believe it is a DTV DVR box that does not require a subscription from Dish Network. (I could be wrong - but thats what the little blurb implied.) Whats the point?
